Seed Plates How to determine distance gears on old planters,ie, Cole planter
I have a 2-row covington planter and need to know what seed plates to use with different seeds.I know each plate has a number on it but need Don plants sweet corn using all antique implements. He uses a 100 + year old John Deere 999 corn planter, a 1950's John Deere If you want your seed in the ground right, or at all, pick the right plate for the old plate style planters, or let the planter in the shed.
